Not a slam on anyone personally, but I don't think it's smart to plan this on Nats weekend. For one, I imagine it might be challenging to get judges. Second, I don't think I'm the only adult skater in the mid-Atlantic going to Nats as a spectator. Particularly given the location, I'm guessing quite a few regular NYI entrants will be there.

I must say that I find it funny/ironic that the one time the Bronze CM event is do-able for me, I can't go. And I'll also add that I think replacing the MIF events with "footwork" events is a bad idea - people entered the MIF events to do the MIF they were working on, in full patterns.

Bay State Games is the same weekend.  I wanted to go to Nationals but I'm committed to BSG as an official.  The rinks have to hold competitions when they can get the facility.  Nationals will be on TV.

I would like to enter the silver footwork event. It would be a chance for me to practice putting out partial versions of the hardest moves from the silver/prejuv test and also to include a couple of loops or rockers that I can do -- I'll never be able to do the full moves patterns of those turns, and I can't make the footwork in my freestyle program too challenging if I also want to complete the jumps and spins.

Meanwhile I'm also going to try getting my bronze freestyle program up to speed to compete that as well. I'm worried about getting confused between two different footwork sequences though.
