Does anyone know how different these are?  It was suggested to me that they are interchangeable, and some people apparently do use electrical tape on their skates.  I'm worried it'll damage the leather and/or be too difficult to remove.

Any thoughts?

I tried electrical tape and while the tape has been there for just 2 weeks, its starting to come off with some leather :(((

I used electrical tape for years and had no problem.  The main difference as far as I could tell is the selection of colors.  Tape may leave a residue which needs to be cleaned off.

I do not use any tape with current boots because they are suede.

Right on, thanks.  I'm testing it on an old pair of skates now, but mainly need it to keep my laces from popping.  My new skates have a very different finish though than my old, many times polished skates, so I don't know how valid this test will be.  Would be nice to do some protection, too.....

Is the residue is removable with Goo removal stuff (I forget the name....goo gone or something like that)??

Definitely not for use on suede!!!!!
