Crasche Middie for Figure Skating - sizing
« on: December 01, 2014, 07:15:32 PM »
I'm planning to order a Crasche Middie and I've measured my head at slightly over 22 inches, which just falls into the Large category but I'm not sure if I've measured my head correctly. I tried to measure the circumference as the hat would sit, so from forehead then over the ears then to the nape of the neck - is this correct? (I can't find any instructions on the website).
Also, if the measurement is the max. for Medium and min. for Large which should I go for - I've been doing a bit of research and was concerned to read that if it's too large it can fly off  :o

I would call them. I think you can change the direction of the inserts to change size too. At least that's the way I read it.

I'm going to measure my head next weekend (to allow any swelling to go down) and order mine. It's my Christmas present. What color are you getting? I think I'm going for the blue dots.

I've got the blue dots!  I like them, but be warned- they're a lot brighter than they look on the web site.  I got the large; my head is 22" and it fits ok.  (The one thing I don't like is that it presses my ear up against my glasses, which hurts after a while.)

I don't have or know this product but for the RibCap they told me to definitely go with a medium for a 22" head and although it isn't exactly loose, if I turn my head down, like to touch the ice or my skate, it falls off.  Of course that is straight upside down but it is NOT snug and that's why.

I would definitely ask the manufacturer.  Hats/headwear usually stretch over time so I would probably go with the smaller end.

I think I measured just under 22 for a ribcap, and I got a small. It fits snugly and isn't uncomfortable. Not sure if that's helpful at all!

Well, I was going to call them but today my head measures 23"  :o :o
same tape measure and everything!!!

I was planning to get the black one, then it would go with everything. The blue dots one looks really nice and I am tempted by it. Now if they had a red one.......

I just went to order the headband, just the one, and it's $13.44 shipping within the US, which seems rather expensive. Just wondered if it was normal - I emailed them recently and they said it was only $10 to Canada  ???

That's odd...I ordered mine maybe about a month ago and shipping was $7.15 to Cali. I chose the USPS shipping option.

I didn't have a choice of shipping options - just the one, which was USPS, at $13  :o
so I've ordered them for delivery to Canada at $10.

You should call them if you haven't placed the order already.  I have a biz and have had issues with the shipping on a new shopping cart so this may not be normal, or something they are even aware of.
