It's Ice Show Season!
« on: March 15, 2013, 01:46:11 PM »
Well the beginning of ice show season  especially at seasonal rinks.  This weekend I'm going to see my nieces in their show "Skate through the Seasons."  Next weekend the seasonal rink where I skate is doing their show "Minnesota N'Ice."  Then at the end of April, my year round rink has their show something about Red Carpet.  I'm not skating in any shows this year, but will be attending these 3.

Are you skating in any shows this year?  Attending?  What are the themes?  I love hearing about different ice shows.

Our club just does an exhibition show- everyone skates their own programs, but you can do groups if you want.

I thought about skating in it, but I don't have a coach right now and haven't been training my program much. I'm not sure a month of Saturdays could get me in shape...

This weekend I'm going to see my nieces in their show "Skate through the Seasons."

I am not doing the spring show this year, but our theme is "skate thru the day" and everyone, literally EVERYONE is curious what is it about. :D

Sounds interesting...wonder what the songs will be.

My nieces show was kind of old school but very enjoyable.  It is a small town with abou 100 skaters.  They had a super elaborate finale. It was very cool.  Also the older of the 2 girls had a feature in one of the group numbers.

We're in a transition period right now-I say that because in the past we've mainly had an exhibition with a theme loosely pulling numbers together.  We now have a skating director so more group numbers and a clearer theme.  Some different rules.  In the future I think it will be more of a show with tryouts, etc. The theme is "Under the Big Top" and my daughter & I are going to do a number together.  Not sure what we'll do for music at this point.  She really wants a song from the movie Madagascar.  I don't want the song from the movie  Madagascar.

Mamabear that is so cool that you are going to skate with your daughter.  I did a family spotlight with my daughter one year.  It was a lot of fun.

I may be Death again.

I've got the costume, but maybe I'll end up being background filler. You never know who will show up and Death is a good character role for someone that can skate better than I can.
Yes I'm in with the 90's. I have a skating blog. http://icedoesntcare.blogspot.com/
