I am starting this thread to create a shared collection of 3D-printable models related to figure skating. The aim is to help forum members find and print useful items for their own needs.

Please note that all files shared in this thread are intended for personal, non-commercial use only. Upload only files that you have created yourself and for which you own the necessary rights. If you are not the original creator, please do not re-upload the file. Instead, share a link to the original download page and respect the creator's license and terms of use.

If you are unable to create 3D models yourself, you are also welcome to suggest items that could be useful to design and print. Describe your idea as clearly as possible, and be prepared to assist the designer with dimensions, measurements, functional requirements, and any other relevant details.

Useful 2D drawings, technical drawings, and printable templates related to figure skating are also welcome.

A relatively common problem when mounting figure-skating blades is that the mounting plate does not sit flush against the sole of the boot.

The attached STL files can be used to print shims for installation beneath the heel plate of the blade. Both parallel and tapered versions are available.

Each model was designed using the blade specified in its filename as a reference. However, the shims may also fit several other blade models from the same manufacturer. A dimensioned drawing is included so that you can check whether the shim is compatible with your blade before printing. I would recommend either PETG or ASA filament.

Because of the forum's file-format restrictions, the STL files have had to be renamed. Please download all the files to your computer and remove the final .jpg extension from each filename.
For example:
Ace lite 8.75 Parallel Heel Shim.stl.jpg
→ Ace lite 8.75 Parallel Heel Shim.stl

Please note that Windows hides extensions for known file types by default. You may therefore need to enable File name extensions in File Explorer before you can remove the .jpg extension.

To unhide file extensions in Windows, open File Explorer, click the View tab at the top, select Show, and check the box for File name extensions (or open Folder Options and uncheck Hide extensions for known file types)

Making this cover from plastic may not be a good idea. If it is 3D-printed, I would at least recommend using a flame-retardant filament. Machines with large grinding wheels can produce a fairly intense stream of sparks.

I have printed a vacuum-hose adapter for my Incredible Edger, and it occasionally starts to smoulder when I remove material aggressively. The airflow through the adapter makes the situation worse — you are blowing air onto a fire. Fortunately, the smell of hot or burning plastic usually provides an early warning, but it is still a potential fire hazard.

However, I have not experienced any problems with the printed cover located above the IE grinding wheel or dressing cover. Overall, the printed covers made significant improvement both dust extraction and the usability of the dressing cover. No more floppy aluminum dressing cover which does not fit well in to wheel cover.

I have designed and printed also new wheel cover with integrated vacuum suction nose to Blademaster 3" wheel machine and I haven't heard any smoulder issues from that.

One of my next projects is to make a new top cover and dressing cover for my IE (similar to yours, adjusted for my older motor mount that has a vertical vacuum hose attachment). I have the aluminum dressing cover, but the top cover on the older machine does not extend far enough to allow attachment, so I have to pick up the dressing cover and set it in place each time I dress the wheel.

Kaitsu--What type of filament did you use for yours? Any secrets to share? Thanks!

Attached pictures showing the cover from several different angles. I'll also share you a private link to a video that shows in greater detail how the cover looks on my machine. The video should clarify a few "secret" features that would be difficult—or even impossible—to understand from the attached pictures alone.

I used regular PLA. I didn't have other filaments in gray color and its the easiest filament type to remove support material. I do not have AMS in my printer, so support material is same as base material. You could use different filament for supports and therefore get better surface finish to surfaces which are printed on top of supports. PLA is also cheapest option to make prototypes. It took quite many trials and errors before all dimensions were reverse engineered in level that please me.
