This is the massive outdoor rink in Budapest. If I remember right it is the largest in Europe (aside from lakes?)
It’s easy to get to and not too hard to find once at the location.
They have a rather large indoor area to put skates on, and I forget the price a couple years later but was not expensive for sure.
It’s a fantastic place to skate for the view and energy of it. The size would be well appreciated on a day with the right weather and especially with little crowd. The day I was there was sunny and fairly warm, but quite windy. This was a problem. I found it difficult to skate against the wind and was not able to practice. It made me into a skater going in a circle, and nothing more.
The ice was not in the finest condition, but most public sessions I’m on are far more chopped up.
There was a small group of girls doing nice spins, and there was plenty of room to tackle things if not for the windy conditions.
It’s a cool experience to skate there, and I’d love try again if I ever get back in season.
