Is there a connection between Edea skates and knee pain?

Ethereal Ice

I do not wear Edeas and I have never heard that Edeas themselves are associated with any type of pain, but I believe they may have a higher heel than some other skates. Regardless, anything that is a change to what you were previously used to in that regard can affect your knees (and back, hips, feet, ankles, you get my drift). Sometimes it is just a matter of your body adjusting, sometimes your body never does feel quite right after a change.

My daughter had knee pain with Edeas. We discovered it was because she needed wedges to give her feet a more neutral position. I think that for some reason, the Edeas made her pronation more obvious than when wearing other skates. I would bring sandpaper to the rink and we would sand down the cork wedges a tiny bit at a time until we could get them just right. Once we got the wedges correct, she didn't have any pain in her knees.
