The planned elements are up on the Sochi site:

Good to see lots of triple-triples planned, as well as at least one 3A.

pretty neat!

A question, taking this a bit on tangent (yeah for all the info provided)
I looked at the German girl (who hails from my dad's hometown) and saw she spends 16 hours a week on the ice., that's, figuring it's a daily thing, about 2 1/2 hours a day...is that about max for top skaters? (I don't know if she still lives 'at home' but the city she trains in is a good hour away, although a straight shot on the Autobahn...)

I don't know if that's average or maximum, but it is on their ISU profiles if you want to do some research:

Note that the "low season" training time is spent testing and learning new elements. By the time the "high season" rolls around, the skater is focused on refining programs and elements moreso than learning.  Basically, they should be fine-tuning at that point and they don't want to burn out by overtraining during the competitive season.

Don't forget about off-ice training, which can complement on-ice and often make it more productive.  Lack of available ice time and/or coaching is a major reason why so many skaters leave their hometowns and relocate to be near training centers.

For American standards, the training location is withing reason still (it would still make for a half day, travel and workout) The off season was not a lot less, 14 vs 16 hours....maybe a day less? Who knows.

Got an email from the USOC list telling me to watch Gold, Wagner, and Edmunds land their triple axels.

Um, what?  Is the short going to be more exciting than I knew?

I don't think they skate everyday - they need to take one or two days off a week to let their bodies rest/heal, etc.
