Know that there are a a number of experts on this topic on the board.
My internal liner around the ankle bone has worn away in a quarter/half dollar size.
Now the foam is peaking through. The edges of the liner are rubbing against my ankle causing some discomfort.
Any one have any solutions? The boots are in decent shape otherwise.

Some additional info would probably help potential responders?
(1) Is the wear on both boots, or just one?
(2) Is the wear on just one side of the ankle, or both sides?
(3) What is the make/model of boot?
(4) What is the liner made of (e.g., leather or microfiber)?
(5) Are you sure the rest of the boot is in good enough condition to be worth salvaging? I've only had this happen to me once. That was an old pair of Riedell Royals with calfskin linings. By the time the lining wore through, the rest of the boot was fairly shot. I don't have enough experience with the service life of other liner materials (such as microfiber).

Boots are Riedell Gold Stars. Wear is on the right boot, on the portion touching the inside right ankle.
Lining is leather, I think.
I fixed a pair of my old 1990's SP Teri boots with similar lining problems by using smooth gray duct tape in strips right over the old bad linings - cheap fix but it worked and easy to do.

You beat me to it. I was going to say the silver duct tape, but that may be the same. I've used it in a couple of spots inside my boots and it wears very well
I've repaired the leather linings of regular (non-skate) boots. Here's what's worked for me. Get a piece of soft, thin leather (I cut a piece from an old wallet). Cut a patch larger than the hole; I'd allow about 1/2" extra all around. Glue it on with E6000 adhesive; bonds strongly to leather, remains flexible.
