Title: Jackson Artiste or Jackson SoftSkates?
Post by: ubmuaer on March 03, 2011, 09:01:01 AM
If I am just a recreational skater who skates in circles around the rink a few times a year, do you recommend the SoftSkates or the Artiste?  Let's say I have the budget to afford it.  I am an adult and hope the skate will last me through my lifetime of skating, including skating with my kids if I have any.  Thanks.

Just recreational skating?  Go with the SoftSkates.  The Artiste skates have leather uppers that will wear out.

If your skating skills increase, you'll have to buy new skates eventually.

FWIW, my feet grew after I had my twins, so I had to get new skates.

You can do single jumps, all three turns, and spins in the SoftSkates.  They are very strong and should last you forever if you stick to recreational skating, and many years even if you do begin freestyle.

I didn't have twins, but I experienced the same.. my feet are a half size bigger and MUCH wider than before!  I had wide feet to start with, so can't say I needed any extra width... it makes finding comfortable street shoes difficult.
