Title: Toronto Ticket Ice (or other quiet sessions)
Post by: Feebee on February 06, 2015, 02:23:10 PM
Hi,

I'm trying to find more ticket ice sessions that I can skate on early in the morning - I've found that this information is really hard to come by.

At any rate - I'm based in North York, but I'm ok with driving out a ways. I specifically need to find practice sessions on Sundays - Anyone know of ticket ice that's available on Sundays, or know of any other ice that's good for Sunday practicing (Must be indoors - I know of a couple outdoor rinks that are actually decent, but the weather is so unpredictable)...

Thanks!

Forgive my ignorance, but what is "ticket ice"?  A public session?  A free style session?  Since I live well south of the border I sadly don't have any recommendations, but I'm just dad gummed curious.

Haha - Completely forgot that it's a Canadian thing - I guess it is like freestyle sessions? Most arenas that are affiliated with a skating club have dedicated hours for practicing, you pay for the ice time (hence I guess ticket-ice), anywhere from $7 to $20/hour.

Can't help as I'm not Toronto based, but I've never heard that terminology used either so maybe it's a local thing?

Hmm, must be a Toronto thing - Guess I'll have to skip weekend practicing :S The public skates are packed with kids...

I'm surprised no one on here is from Toronto! At any rate, good luck!
