Georgetown mother-daughter duo wins figure skating medals at State Games of America

Deborah Wood-Scearbo won a gold medal and her daughter Jessica Scearbo won a silver at the State Games of America, held in Hershey and Harrisburg, Pa, in late July and early August. Deb won her gold in the Adult Ladies Silver event, and Jessica took silver in a loaded division called Pre-Juvenile Girls Test Track.

“We both qualified for State Games of America back in February,” said Wood-Scearbo. “You have to finish in the top three in your local game to qualify for the State Games. It’s right back to the ice now, there’s no break in figure skating.”
