What is in your test program?
« on: August 12, 2012, 08:28:59 PM »
I thought it should be nice to have a thread for members to list the contents of their programs, it's fun to share and more importantly, may avoid misunderstanding of technical requirements especially if coach is not familiar with certain tests...

I'll start :)

USFS bronze FS:

Jumps - waltz toe combination, salchow, toe loop, loop

Spins - sit spin, back spin (no more upright spin per 7/7/12 rule book)

Connecting elements - miscellaneous lol, a friend skated by today and said you have a lot of extra stuff! For fun I guess :)

Planned choreo: series of waltz 3 into sit spin, mohawk into back crossovers, spread eagle into waltz-toe, waltz 3, salchow, strokes and lunge into bauer, set and toe loop, crossovers into small one foot glide, LFO3 - RBO3 - RBO glide, LFI into backspin, LFO power 3, back crossovers, stroke, LFO spiral, mohawk, RBO3, loop jump, LFO3 and back crossovers, RBO duck, LBI duck, back pivot and end.

Bronze (will be changing soon - since the test requirements no longer include an upright spin so we'll end up moving the backspin towards the end and adding some footwork where it currently is).

Loop
Backward spiral (not sequence, just a spiral)
Salchow
Sit Spin
Footwork across rink
Toe loop
Backspin
Split falling leaf
Waltz-toe
Upright spin

There are of course, connecting steps in between everything :)  Odds are good I will use the same program for silver even though it's a little short.. I may re-edit the music so I can "find" another 20s, but aside from fitting in another jump sequence which could go where the current split falling leaf is, it's really easy to stick a flip where my salchow is and do a camel spin where the sit spin is, and make the last spin a layback into a back sit (my current favorite combo).. it would work out just fine.

My bronze test had:

Required elements:
loop
waltz-toe
sit spin
salchow
backspin
toe loop
scratch spin

Other stuff:
back inside pivot
small footwork sequence- LFI3, RFO3, toe steps, mohawk-step cross-mohawk, 3-turn-ballet jump
lots of back crossovers with various ways of stepping forward

Don't have a competition program yet.  We are still trying to figure out how to optimize my spins.

Intermediate (test program - I also skate up to test track intermediate for some competitions because my double sal is tempermenal at best):

*double sal/toe loop
*flying camel
*axel
*straight line footwork
*double sal
*camel/layback/back sit
*split/falling leaf (filler - not required)
*flip/loop

Silver free/bronze competition program:
-backspin
-salchow
-toe loop
-spiral
-back outside hydroblade
-loop (has been a salchow/toe loop combo for exhibition)
-camel/sit (just a camel for bronze competition)
-straight line footwork
-flip
-sit spin

I don't need the sit any more, but I'm reluctant to take it out since it's my best element!!

My bronze competition program has, as of tonight:
Salchow toe loop jump combo
Loop jump
Lutz jump
Sequence with waltz jump, toe loop, a little side hop and a salchow
Forward scratch spin into a back scratch
Sit spin
A footwork sequence that I'm still figuring out
Catchfoot spiral (connective element, not a spiral squence)
Backward pivot
Various connecting steps

We made a lot of changes tonight. It's really sloppy right now, but hopefully I can clean it up quickly. The forward-back scratch is going to be my nemesis, I think.

I imagine we'll use a variation of this for my bronze freeskate test.

Silver Free:

change foot attitude spin
Salchow/toe loop comb
Twizzles
Toe loop
Loop jump
Camel
Spirals
Flip
Jump sequence: waltz-tap-waltz-1/2 loop/salchow
Lutz
Camel-sit-scratch spin

I think there's more in it, but it's been a while since I practiced it.   :-[
