High vs low top shoes

High top tennis shoes used to be very common.

But they are becoming increasingly uncommon in stores.

I guess this means that basketball players and such are often emphasizing athletic training over equipment.

Because I used to have a lot of ankle injuries, I just bought a new pair of high top athletic shoes. But they were very hard to find - most of the shoe stores didn't have any in my size.
