Just for Fun -- Oldest Skates

So getting new skates is a fairly common occurrence, but what about hanging on to old skates and continuing to use them? Who's still out there on skates old enough to be considered "vintage" (or even "antique")?  ;D

My current skates are the top ones, 12 year old Gold Stars. I used them yesterday.

The second down is also a Gold Star from a few years earlier. The bottom skate is a low-tier Riedell from the 70s. I last used them in 2000 when I started skating again, taking lessons for the first time. I still have all of them, but use only the skates from 2007.

(Hello group, my name is Bill, and I'm a packrat.)

I love seeing all three boots together; it fascinates me to see the way they've changed stylistically over the years.

I'm sure you'll hang on to all of these when your next boots come along...  ::>)

I will also update the photo. I'm going to need a bigger background to set them on for the photo!
