Cute (and easy!) skating skirt
« on: April 11, 2011, 09:33:09 PM »
I saw the cutest skating dress this weekend that a very creative home sewer made!

It was a basic skating dress with short sleeves.  The body was a bright green and the sleeves were black.
The skirt was doubled, with the underskirt in the same green and the overskirt in black.

What make it eye-catching was the overskirt: the seamstress cut it in panels and serged the raw edges.
You could probably add an overskirt like this pretty easily, just attaching it to the top of the skirt on a pre-made dress.

When the girl skated, the green peeked out now and then, looking like a pleated cheerleader skirt on the spiral.

Very clever and cute to watch!
