Jim has already turned on notification emails for your ID.

There's no need to give out your email address on a public board - that's asking for trouble and trickery.

You can always log in to check this thread - that's why we made it a sticky for you.

FSWer's Public Skate Training Report 9/18/10

Ok my fellow Skaters!!! Here is todays On-Ice-Training Report....

I got to the Rink at 4:00.I registered with my passes at the Desk and went in. Public Skate started late,as the Zambonni was still smoothing the ice. Which gave me time to put on, and lace up my skates. I got on the ice right after the Zambonni left, and started to skate. We wound-up with about 19-20 Skaters on the ice. As we were also sharing the Rink with a Birthday Party. We are now back in the Blue Rink BTW. I practiced Spinning. As well as my Edges, and another Skater (Donna) even told me the trick to getting your Leg up. She said you have to keep your head up,but it takes practice. As I just keep putting my foot down every time I try it. I forgot to ask her though how you keep pushing-off on 1 Blade once your foot is lifted. LOL. So I now have more of an idea for a Spiral, and something new to pratice!!! I also was able to skate around the Rink non-stop!!! I got off the ice at 1:15,then went home.

Ok my fellow Skaters!!! Here is todays Report...

I got to the Rink early. A litle before Noon. Enough time to do BOTH get my Skates sharpened (so yes I now have newly sharpened skates on my Bag) and get my skates on. Along with my Gaurds. I got everything on RIGHT by 12:00. Then went in.(We have been in the Blue Rink as Hockey has been in the Red). I found myself once again walking in with only most of the Gaurds on. A bit in the front coming off the Blade. So if anyone can please give me some tips on how to make sure my Gaurds stay on. I would really appreciate it. As I don't know much about if that can hurt the Blade or not. Anyway....I got on the ice and started skating. I'm not sure. But I THINK we had a small Birthday Party with us again today. A few mins. after I got on the ice and started skating. A nice lady called me ove and offered to check my laces. As she said she was going to offer to tighten them for me. As it turned out. She not only was able to show me HOW to tighten (which I must admit I'm not sure if I could do again). But it turned out that she knew Katie Orscher. As Katie and her Daught have the same coach.btw. I think that will be all I'll be able to say about that on a Board. As I believe the rest would be too pesonal. After Skating at about 1:20 I went home. Please keep checking back here for more of my Reports.

Sorry,I can't edit on this Board. But just want to leave everyone with FSWer's tip of the day. I found this out at Public Skate today. To practice skating Backwards...try this....make arm circls going backward...and you GO Backward. Make arm circles frontward....and you'll GO forward!!!!

Ok my fellow Skaters!!!! Here it is....

For both my Back and Stomach Leg-Lifts,I can still get my Legs to the limit.

On my Spiral Leg-Lifts..I was able to lean even more forward.

My Push-Ups were easy again today.

For my Sit-Ups..I worked on keeping my feet flat.

On my Bike I pedaled for 10min. with 7 rests.

I don't know when I'm going back to the Rink again. I don't have my dates yet.

Also a question about Spiral Leg-Lifts...Does anyone know if lifting your Leg up with 1 hand to try to get it tto your head is possible to do holding onto a counter or wall standing sideways? If so...how would you do it? Thanks.

Ok my fellow Skaters!!!!..Here it is....I got to the Rink at 12:00 noon (the start of Public Skate). Went in to Register with my Skate Passes, and found also that they moved from the front Desk into the office to do it. I then went into the Blue Rink and put on my Skates (didn't need my Gaurds today).I took that time to then practice tying fast and tigt like the other Skaters do (yes,it turns out that I still haven't matered or the hang of that quick-tie yet. The one that's supposed to make your Boots feel REALLY snug). LOL, I don't if I will EVER be able to do it. Anyway,I got on the ice,and the Rink was almost packed. As we were sharing the ice with a Birthday Party!!!! I asked around, and I ended up finding no one who wanted to (or who could) skate with me today. As I'm aincous (sorry,I know that's spelled wong) to try skating with a Partner again!!!! As it sure felt really good that day when I did!!! I practiced skating Backward for a few mins. As well as worked on my glided-ins to the Boards. I think I may have actually stopped once. But I'm not sure. I skated around the Rink at quarter-after 1, then went home. TTFN. LOL.

FSWer's On Ice Skater On Ice-Training Report 10/30/10

Ok my fellow Skater's!!!! Here is todays Report....

I got to the Rink a little before Noon.I went in,and Registered at the Desk with my Skate Passes. Then went in to put on my Skates. We had the Blue Rink. We started out with just 2 Skaters (me and another lady) in the Rink, and wound up in the end with...um...I'm going to guess...20. As I didn't count this time. Some of the Skaters were not only a small Birthday Party. But it turned out that  the lady was a wanna-be Ice-Dancer in training who was hoping for a Partner. She said she wasn't planing to become famous btw. I practiced my 2-Foot-Spin and am proud to say that (unless I'm really just turning myself around faster and don't realize it, LOL),I'm actually getting the HANG of it and actually Spinning faster!!! I'mnot so sure. But it looked good today. I also practiced lifting 1 Foot up in a Spiral (which I fell on and found a LOT harder then it looks!!) I've always wondered what the trick was that they teach Skaters to find their balance on one Blade. After mastering balancing on 2. I also tried lifting one Foot up to try a 1-Foot Spin. But found it hard to be lifting a heavy Boot up even high enough. I was wondering how it's even POSSIBLE for any Skater to do it and even though you need to practice. If I'm even doing everything right. BTW. a question about drying skates...should you always let your skates dry out in the air when getting home? Or if you just want to get your skates away quicky,is it ok to just take the towel that your going to be wrapping up your skates in the bag in to store them (like I did) and just dry the skates all over and then wrap and put them away? I also practiced skating Backward. Which I'm still having trouble with. As well as my Jumping!!! I also did a little Dancing and even took the hands of a couple of people today (one of which was a 10 year old kid who was still wobbly and fell himself. But I say that he did very well for HIS first Partner!!!! LOL. I myself didn't fall too btw. A little girl who is also going to be in a Show at Champion Arena not to far from me was there practicing HER Program, and I went over after seeing her lift her leg in a Spiral at 10 years of age and complimented her. Saying that not even I could do that!!!! She was also in Sinphiny (sorry can't spell it without looking at it) on Ice at the XL Center at the age of 7. After that I went home. I'm not sure when I go back to the Rink. I will keep you all posted. TTFN!!!! LOL.

Ok my fellow Skaters...time for another double update....

For Back Leg-Lifts. On Halloween I was able to still stretch my Legs all the way up,and today I can still lift my Legs up the highest they can go.

For my Stomach Leg-Lifts from Halloween. Same as on my Back Leg-Lifts. Today same as my Back Leg-Lifts from today.

For my Spiral Leg-Lifts. On Halloween I worked on getting my Legs up over me (I still wonder if that's possible to do holding onto a counter). Today I worked on lifting my Legs up.

My Push-Ups were easy both on Halloween and today.

For Sit- Ups. On both Halloween and today I worked on keeping my feet flat.

I'm sorry to say that the handles on my Bike are still loose. Yes BTW. I did try Hockey Skates once and found myself flip-flpping all over the Rink and that for me I should be on Figure Skates before I skated in front of everyone and their Mother. HA,HA!!!

Ok fellow Skaters...here is todays Report...

For my Back Leg-Lifts....I can still lift my Legs all the way up.

On my Stomach Leg-Lifts...they were a little tight today.

For Spiral Leg-Lifts..I started out in the kitchen holding the counter. But took the chance to go in the Bathroom and check my Spirals with the mirror standing sideways. My Legs came out almost more straigt today. I can't figure out though why I have such a hard time lifting my Legs up over me (by just lifting my Leg). Is it not possible to do?

My Push-Ups were a little tight.

For Sit-Ups I worked on keeping my feet flat.

I wish that I lived closer to you. I could fix your bike for you. I've fixed lots of them.

Do you know anyone who is handy with tools? Maybe they could help.

A bicycle shop could fix it too, but they will want payment for doing the repairs. Still, it shouldn't cost too much money.
