Title: Lucky me!
Post by: treesprite on March 14, 2012, 04:38:23 AM
How many employers pay for ice skating?  My job pays as much as $200 a year for fitness clubs - yesterday they said that because I skate a couple times every week, they would count it as a fitness club.  Very nice job perk, huh?

I'm lobbying for mine to.  They do a $10/month fitness subsidy, and will count tennis clubs (I think someone in HR must play tennis), but so far no luck on skating...

Wow, that's awesome. I get a discounted gym membership through my job. It's a GREAT discount. I pay something like $25 a month. But they don't seem convinced that putting ice down over the basketball court permanently is a good idea...

Tell them you know another skater whose employer does count it.  I believe ice skating can be far more demanding than using fitness equipment!

That would be awesome! I don't go regularly, but if I got a benefit like that I would probably go a lot more often.
