I'm not suggesting this is going to happen. The Olympics, and skating have had many controversies before a certain skater was allowed to skate at the Olympics despite a positive doping test, and there will be many more to come. So decertification, or whatever you want to call it, would be an extreme response. I haven't found any web links indicating that there is a significant possibility this could occur.
The CAS's own web page (https://www.tas-cas.org/en/general-information/history-of-the-cas.html) says that the IOC gave the CAS its authority, and funds its activities.
But technically speaking, is the decision to authorize CAS reversible? E.g., could they be barred from future authority over IOC-controlled sporting events, and from those of IOC members, such as the ISU?
If that occurred, could the CAS continue to exist in any capacity?
Also, could the IOC, technically speaking, bar the judges involved in a particular CAS decision from participating in future decisions?
