Changing coaches and saying goodbye
« on: January 26, 2016, 12:48:36 PM »
Last week, we told DD's coach that we wanted to change.  It was a difficult decision and a stressful conversation.   My daughter will do lessons with her for about 3 more weeks and then move to a new coach.  While I think that is the best decision in long run, I'm also very grateful for her coaching.   I mentioned to my daughter that we might do a goodbye gift/card.  Have you given anything when switching coaches?  Ideas on what might seem appropriate?  I was thinking a thank you card/note and a gift card.

When my former coach left the rink, I gave him a really nice photo frame. He came from a different country, so I gave him something from the souvenir store. I think I added a short thank you note.

I think a thank you note and a gift card is a great combination.
