Surprisingly she didn't have me reskate the sit spin. She was more concerned about the jump.

My plan is to move on and push forward with improving everything.

Great attitude!! Good luck :)  I kind of feel we deserve a thread split here...

Thank you. And agreed. Though I think one sorta happened in on the ice. Everyone is going to double check elements so that sort of confusion doesn't happen to someone else.

On the original topic, I wish I had tested when I was younger but I'm glad to have the experience now. It really is a wonderful and fun way of challenging yourself and I highly encourage any adult to try it. My judge even said today that she loves watching adults skate.

Agreed. Although some tests will take longer than others (silver MITF cough cough) and that's when adults' perseverance comes into play!

My first MITF test is tomorrow...

Well? :) :)

What do you mean "deserve?"  The moderators didn't create the thread drift; the original poster set the tone with her announcement-disguised-as-a-poll.  There are several individual posts that are mixed like that.

I cannot split a single post into two different ones, so to split the posts among two different threads would leave it disjointed.

Sorry for not phrasing it correctly. I meant to say both the original poll and the test requirement discussions are interesting and merit their own threads if (technically) possible. Yeah they have been quite mixed up :)

We already have several test requirements threads for specific levels and patterns of Moves.  We can start one for Freeskate, like "USFSA Pre-Bronze Freeskate."  However, since the tests *may* change from year to year, the rulebook will always be the more reliable resource.  Our threads and well-intentioned advice/guidance gets out of date from time to time.

As for the announcement/results discussion, I renamed the former "test video" forum to "Test and Competition Results and Videos (Members Only)" so it wouldn't be confused with the Video Vault for critiques.

I added a sticky topic called "Tears and Cheers - Tests/Competitions" thread.  That forum is hidden from lurkers, so there's a modicum of privacy.  (As much as there can be with online sites.)

If you have an upcoming test and want to get some good luck vibes, post it there.  Be sure to come back and tell us how it went.
