I saw this ad at a local rink. Out of curiosity, I called the owner for full info:
Outdoor Ice Rink for sale, $500
72'x36'
410-409-5981
Location: Towson, MD.
Includes plywood, liner, frame.
Land not included.
Packs up into boxes, easy to set up.
Fill with a hose.
Is cold enough this weekend to skate.
:)
Reminders:
1. The land should be flat - a small bulldozer might help.
2. Most of the year around here, will be too warm to skate.
3. When you can skate, "Baby, it's cold outside" (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=crFQpOCDfEc).
4. Outdoor ice is rarely as good as indoor ice.
5. No ice surfacer included. Perhaps you can re-spray it with water.
6. When ice melts, the water needs some place to go, if it develops a leak.
7. Check zoning laws.
8. Safety and liability issues? May be "an attractive nuisance".
9. Other used and new ice rink kits for sale at eBay and elsewhere.
