EXCLUSIVE: Ask Nancy Kerrigan a Question
« on: March 25, 2017, 03:22:36 PM »
US Olympic Silver Medalist Nancy Kerrigan is going to be a contestant on Dancing with the Stars this season.

A friend of mine has an interview scheduled and he asked if the Figure Skating community has any questions.

What question would you like to ask Nancy Kerrigan?

Post it here and I'll send him a list tomorrow morning so he can prepare for his interview.

Thanks everyone!

Questions already submitted:

How much did you practice when you first started to progress in skating?
Did you start out in group lessons?
Did you ever do ice dancing?
What did skating teach you that will help you do well on Dancing with the Stars?

ETA

How do you train as an adult vs as a kid/high level skater? Meaning,  time and physical constraints.
World championships start on the 29th - who are you rooting for and who do you think will win?

What does she like about her new experience with ballroom dancing? What does she find different between ballroom and ice skating?

How often do you skate these days in order to maintain your skills?
What was the most challenging element for you to learn?
What advice would you give new adult skaters?

Given the opportunity, would you compete head-on-head with Tonya Harding on Dancing with the Stars?

Did she ever use ballroom dancing to help with skating moves, and if so, what type(s) of dances?

Boots, blades, and ROH.

Some of what you do now is shows on artificial (plastic) ice. Plus show management must involve walking on and off the ice. How do those change choices about blades and edges?

How many hours a week do you skate for yourself, as opposed to managing or teaching others?

Do you still love it? (Or maybe she would feel she has to answer yes to the last question, for show ratings...)

Here's the interview, short but sweet!  He used some of our questions!

KIX 102.9's Doug Austin interviewed Nancy Kerrigan, who is appearing on Dancing with the Stars this season!
