Title: knee highs
Post by: AgnesNitt on June 15, 2017, 09:15:06 PM
I normally skate in Mondor knee highs in tan or black.
I'd like to get some white ones. Do they even make these? I can't find them.

I've never seen white knee high tights.  Searching for that item reminded me that I've never been able to wearing real stockings, sigh.  I'm a little jealous of ladies who can wear stockings without garters.  Or cross their legs and have their ankles touch.

I know I've seen a site that sells skating socks in colors other than tan and black (blue, green, pink, etc.).  I don't remember whether white was one of the options.  I'll see if I can find it.

Here it is:  https://www.colorflowskating.com/collections/microfiber-knee-high-skating-tights  No white, though.

You can also buy the Colorflow ones on Amazon (https://www.amazon.com/Purple-Microfiber-Skating-Socks-2-Pair/dp/B01IUH0P4U/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1497629476&sr=8-1&keywords=colorflow+skating).  They qualify for Prime.  I have four pairs, blue and purple (you get two pairs of the same color with each purchase), and I love them.  They're so soft and comfy, and a bit thinner than the Mondor ones, which is nice.

Anyone know how the Colorflow ones work on chunky calves? I've been wearing Mondor because they have a generous fit.

Colorflow ones are even stretchier/more generous than Mondor.

My daughter loves the colorflow skating socks, and they seem to last a longer than the Mondor ones too.

I just saw this thread. I buy trouser socks to skate in and I have seen cream and white pairs offered from time to time. I have bought mine off of eBay, Amazon, and in Target and Walmart. I prefer them to be pretty thick, but they can really vary in thickness from very thin like nylon knee highs to as thick as my husband's hockey socks. I prefer buying them in person because then I can feel the thickness, but anyway, it seems like that might be an option. Plus they are usually really reasonably priced. Mine have lasted ages.

I found this new sock/boot cover combination--Over the Tops--I bought a pair and will review it as soon as hockey camps over the region are done and I have ice available.
