Title: NCPAD
Post by: Isk8NYC on November 13, 2011, 06:05:38 PM
Does anyone know if "The National Center on Physical Activity and Disability" (ncpad.org) is a government agency or research center?  They have a free 14-week web-based fitness program that looks like a good idea, but I'm concerned that it's a marketing come-on for a weight loss clinic or similar.

In looking at their website, they seem to focus on the disabled, but I can't tell for certain.

There is a contact email address at the bottom of the page. Seems to be connected to University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC). Lots of research programs from the looks of it.

It came up as a link on a fitness portal, so I thought it was for anyone.  In looking at the program notes more carefully, I see that the target audience for the program are "people with mobility limitations, chronic health conditions and physical disabilities."  That rules me out.

Thanks for the reply.
