Donald Klingbeil

I am very sad to announce that Donald Klingbeil passed away from injuries incurred in a car accident on November 13, 2018.  The skating community is shocked to lose such a talented, gentle man.

As many members know, Don's father established Klingbeil Shoe Labs, which evolved into a beloved custom skate making business.  Upon Bill's retirement, Don continued his work until the business was sold to a Manhattan investor.  The skate line continues now under the "Avanta" name.

I am so sorry to hear that.
