Title: 12 Days Off The Ice Before TESTING ...(Adult)
Post by: Adultsk8r509 on February 23, 2012, 11:48:11 AM
I just learned that my test date was moved back 3 days.  Taking my first test APB MIF and APB Free Skate on the day after I return from vacation.  I will be off the ice for 12 days.... having a wonderful time, mind you... .but wondering how to stay mentally and physically ready.

I know it's just Pre Bronze.  Not that big of a deal, right?  But this is my first attempt at a test in 41 years.  I'm nervous enough just about putting on a skating dress and tights!

My flight arrives the night before.  Very Late.  Jet Lag.

Any ideas about exercise types to do while I am away?  I will have access to a gym (going on a cruise).

Thanks for your suggestions...

Look into sk8strong.com exercise program.  I have done that on cruises before- the gym has everything you need :-)
Any chance you can skate that day before your test?  I know from experience that the first time back on ice after a break is an adjustment.

You might surprise yourself.  I find when I've been skating regularly and then take a break, I actually skate better the first day I am back (then reality hits me for the next few sessions).

Just judging from the video you posted, you should not have any trouble passing :)
