Title: Is there a similar product in the USA?

I think dd would be willing to wear these - they aren't overly bulky, they are short and wouldn't be noticeable and she wouldn't have to position the pads herself.

I think these look cooler, but they may not be as protective:  http://www.allsportprotection.com/McDavid_Roller_Derby_Padded_Shorts_p/mcd023.htm

(Can't post the image, sorry.)

They are not cheap, but Se-ku makes several styles that are very trim.. http://www.sekuskatewear.com/2011-ProTechWear.html

I have a pair of no-name shorts I got on ebay for $10 used with fairly thick pads and they almost don't show at all under pants.... so don't think because it looks bulky that it really will be with pants over.  The only girls I notice wearing shorts are the ones that pull them up over a dress :)

These are cheaper than Seku's, though they aren't as short as your picture.

They are pretty thin under pants, though I always just slipped mine over pants (they stretch enough to go around a blade) so I didn't have to wear them all session.

Sadly, I left them at the rink, and they disappeared.

Thanks - I have a friend in Italy right now, but the company isn't responding to my emails and she comes home in a week.  :\

The shorter shorts seem to come in adult sizes, not kid sizes.  We have seen lots of padded shorts, but that style seemed less restrictive.  The SeKu shorts are super thin padding - I think she may need a little more than that (and also not in kids sizes).

I see hi level skaters at my rink using bubble wrap (small bubbles).  They fold the sheet a few times and put it under the tights for when they are practicing triples, then take it out.

I visited a different proshop and told them she has waxel pads and doesn't like them.  They just got these in: http://www.zoombang.com/ - look for sports, then figure skating.

They are super thin!  She wore them last night and was comfortable.  We'll see how they hold up.  :)
