Boot Rant - I may be not a Cinderella...
« on: December 10, 2011, 05:28:22 PM »
... but I too have a shoe size problem. Of an opposite nature, alas - I can't find a boot large enough for me.
I used to skate in Edea boots, but they became too narrow, and a few month ago I got Jackson Classiques in size 10C that fit me perfectly. Yet I wanted to upgrade to higher level boots, and ordered Jackson Elite in the same size. Well, it turned out that 10C Elites are 5 mm shorter than 10C Classiques and these are crucial 5 mm! To make matters worse, Jackson ladies boots just don't get any bigger than size 10. I'll have to return this pair, but I wonder if there are any skates in my size anywhere. As far as I know, Harlick boots go up to ladies size 12 (my sincere condolences to any ladies wearing shoe size 12 - I feel your pain!), but I know nothing about Harlick boots. Are they worth money and wait (as far as I understand, they are usually made to order)? Or maybe there are other options out there?

It may be possible to have those boots stretched length-wise.

I'd suggest you contact Jackson directly, and ask if you can order a mens boot in white.  If they can do it, you'd need to be sized according to the mens charts (they're different to the women's chart in their "width vs length"), it would cost you at least one "semi-custom" additional charge, and I expect you'd need to make the order through a dealer.  All that said, I'd think you're not the first lady with a larger foot?

Good idea!

The Big Guy had size 13 regular feet (11 jacksons), so there's hope!

Same thing with Riedell. My skates are men's in white leather.

Boot covers are much cheaper than semi-custom.
