Brandon Mroz's Quad Lutz "Homologated" by ISU

ISU homologates the first quadruple Lutz jump

The ISU recognizes and homologates the first quadruple Lutz performed in any sanctioned competition.  Brandon Mroz (USA) executed the jump on September 16, 2011 during his Free Skating program at the Colorado Springs Invitational, a U.S. Figure Skating sanctioned event.

ETA: "Homologate" means to grant approval or recognition.  New word of the day - should make it a Post Count Title, lol.

That's very exciting for him.  I'm a little shocked the recognized it in a non-international event.

The ISU was informed and based on footage placed on Youtube was able to confirm that Brandon Mroz’s (USA) performed a quadruple Lutz on September 16, 2011 during the Colorado Springs Invitational, a U.S. Figure Skating sanctioned Event. This is reportedly the first quadruble Lutz performed in any sanctioned competition.
