1.  Take (and pass!) pre-bronze MIF and FS tests.
2.  Lose a few of those extra pounds so I look better in a skating dress for the above-mentioned tests.
3.  Improve flexibility and increase spiral height.
4.  Consistently perform a catch-foot spiral.
5.  Increase speed and stamina.
6.  Be a little more brave when trying new things.

Mine are pretty simple this year

1.  Pass gold moves (I did meet last year's goal of TRYING to test them, and did fairly well, aside from not finishing the test)
2.  Don't get hurt

My goals are pretty simple as well:
1. Miss as little ice time as possible after my surgery in January
2. Move up to Adult 4
3. Don't let my fear of falling/getting hurt hold me back so much

  • Take and hopefully pass level 3 pattern dance. (Riverside Rhumba and Golden Skaters Waltz)
  • Pass level 1 variation so I never have to do this dance again. Its been over 2 years now and I am seriously sick of it. :(
  • Manage the Willow waltz regularly without wimping out on the RFO 3 turn at speed.
  • Twizzles... that are proper twizzles!
  • Do some kind of competition or exhibition that doesn't get cancelled / not held in the 1st place!
  • Improve my spins.

I never got to make skating resolutions the past couple years, ( or at least somewhere written down so I could go back and see ) so here I go:
- consistent axels
- begin working on double salchows
- test silver moves and freeskate
- more fluidity in my skating, maybe take ballet classes to help  :)
- improve and add more spin combos

*Finish ISI Basic Skills and "graduate" to Freestyle
*Get at least one or two consistent jumps (probably 1/2 jumps) and one or two consistent spins
*Skate a program in a show or competition
*Keep working on improvement in basics (stroking, crossovers, turns, stops)
*Have fun and keep enjoying the process
ISI Freestyle 2 as of 11/3/14

I think I'm going to keep this simple...

Starting in February when I get back from my trip:

* In addition to weekly group class, skate at least once per week, at least 3 weeks per month
* Start regular off-ice exercising, even if it's just stretching, 2x per week.
* Fall at least once so I'm not so scared of it.
* Build confidence in general (not sure how, though...)

My skating resolutions are going to do with getting healthy again: starting treatment for my pulmonary sarcoidosis so I can regain stamina.  Along with that, my goals include:

~scratch, back, and sit spin,
~half flip to full flip,
~loop,
~pass bronze moves and start bronze FS program. (see previous goals) and
~possibly compete.

All of these are dependent upon my lungs getting better and the budget not going to h^(# after reducing hours to finish my degree.

Don't be so afraid of falling - do things with more speed
Skate more shows/exhibitions
Buy proper protective gear to help with point 2 :)
One foot spin - little optimistic but I have a waltz jump so possible :)

Stick with my blog and build my audience--although I may have maxed out the adult learner audience. (Do I actually have Russian readers? And what's with the French readers? Do these countries even have adult skaters?)

Get my FI3 back.

Maybe possibly, just maybe, get a BO3.

I'm setting my goals low, so far I've never made a resolution ever!

1) Get a 1 foot spin down
2) Stretch 5 times a week
3) Practice at least twice a week
4) Have the Waltz 8 down

There's loads of adult skaters in France and Russia. They host a lot of the European adult competitions.

And I love the blog and your take on rink behavior/politics. My coach had a laugh at your holiday show post and was showing it around the rink.
It was just soooo true.
