One of my skaters said he'd like to visit Lake Placid because he's never been there but has heard great things about the Olympic complex and ice. I thought to myself, "Well, the Lussi rink is gone, that was a novelty." Didn't want to spoil it for him - if he didn't know about it, he can't regret losing the opportunity, right?
That made me think about what rinks I would like to skate on at some point. Philadephia Humane Society, Sun Valley, Vale, Salt Lake City were on the list but today, I saw a photo of Edinburgh, Scotland's outdoor rink with holiday lights and put it on my list. I'm sure it's cold in Scotland during December, but it looked beautiful.
What rink would you like to skate on at some point in the future?

Queen's Ice and Bowl in London. Just because it's been in a few books I've read.

Snoopy's Home Ice. I just really like Peanuts (if you can't tell from my icon) :)

Me too! My daughter/grandson live in Santa Rosa, so when I make it out to visit, my skates will go too!

Another for Snoopy's home ice! Also the seasonal rink at the Tower of London.

Easterns for adults is at the Philly Humane Society next year. I may go.
I used to walk by the Queens Ice Bowl in London, but that was back before I skated, so perhaps I missed out without knowing it.

Technically not a rink, but Tenaya Lake before snow falls.

I believe back in the day Queens was an amazing rink, but in modern times it's a funny size now as more than half of it has been removed to make space for the Bowl. It's a shame as there's so much history there.

Reviving an old thread, I did skate at the Philadelphia Humane Society for sectionals. It was interesting. There are no boards! I got used to that more quickly than I thought, though. I liked how the place looked. It's cool inside. NICE women's locker room.
I really want to skate at Frog Pond in Boston. That's my next one to try for, I'm thinking.
