Edge Again Non-motorized sharpener
« on: September 16, 2016, 05:38:41 PM »
I saw a product called "Edge Again" in the local store. It's labelled as Figure Skate specific (there was another one for hockey skates) and claims to be a non-motorized sharpening device which sharpens and repairs all edges. I just wondered if anyone had tried it?

Judging from the silence, I suspect that no one else here has heard of it. Until now, I've never heard of it either.

I can't tell from looking how well it sharpens, but I did make out in the diagram that there's a claim that it hones the sides of the blade at the same time as the hollow.

Without buying one, it's hard to predict its utility. I have another brand of hand-sharpener that does work, so I'm probably not going to try one.

As you say I assume it's not a popular product, and without some reliable testimonials I'm very reluctant to try it.

Various ads for this device say it sharpens all 4 sides at once, with one tusk.

What 4 sides? How can 1 "tusk" maintain and restore your particular desired hollow?

If you buy one, please tell the forum if and how well it works!
