This is a very-strange YouTube channel that focuses on the human muscle anatomy.

It's the "underskin" images that strike me as odd - sit spin analysis, for example:

I'm not sure how people use this. Are many people consciously aware of what muscles they are using? How hard is it to train yourself to do this?

Incidentally, there are a lot of links on the web if you search for "anatomy of dance".

I once took a class on "Dance Kinesiology", that used these textbooks::

The course instructor said that you can only sense the external (surface) muscles - unless you push the internal muscles to the point of soreness. That implies you can tell what your internal muscles are doing by making them sore, but does it make sense to do that?

I wasn't very successful at identifying what muscles I was using. Then again, I only did a little dance, at a purely recreational level. I concluded is that my body is way too complex for me to sense and understand the internals. The other course participants - college dance majors - knew a lot more about anatomy.

Yet a PT told me I should shift which muscles I was using to skate and do other things.
