Title: myskatingmall.com
Post by: Isk8NYC on September 05, 2011, 10:56:18 AM
I get nothing out of this "advertisement," so don't think I'm doing this out of greed.

I hadn't been on www.myskatingmall.com in a long time.  The last few times I checked it out, all the items were new, being sold at full-MSRP, so I figured they had turned into an online reseller like iceskatingworld.com.

Today, I was surprised to see a lot of used skates and blades, many of them worn for less than 24 hours!  People seem to order the wrong sizes frequently.  If you're in the market for gently-used tiems, check it out - you might get a bargain.

Just be sure to ask for photos and check things out carefully.  You should also know the exact model and size you need, so you don't end up being a seller next month, *chuckles.*

My experience with this website is positive, both in selling and buying (gently used skating equipment). I truly wonder why this wonderful website has not picked up more momentum yet. Too much brand new, full-price merchandise can indeed drive people away.

I bought a pair of MK Professional Parabolics for less than the price of a new pair of the non Parabolic version and a pair of MK Dance for about $300.  Both pairs were skated in once. I think it's a great resource for the skating community.  I had a little trouble with one of the transactions and Ryan Jahnke called me personally to make sure it was fixed. I'd recommend it to anyone.

Maybe I should try this place.
I've got a pair of men's Jackson Premiers size 13 that I need to get rid of. I'd give them away, but I don't want to see them end up on eBay. The Big Guy wore these so they're nicely broken in for either a man in LTS or a man in beginner ice dance. They're too broken in to jump in.

How big are they? I've been approached by people with small families asking if they can move in.

Also a pair of parabolic blades that can be used as replacement supports for the Bay Bridge.

These are not the largest boots I've ever seen. There's a coach we call "Big Boot Tim" whose are even bigger.

Anyone know if myskatingmall.com is still open for business?

I can't make their webpage work at the moment, but we can still do web searchs:

There is a facebook page https://en-pi.facebook.com/MySkatingMall/posts/263522183658892

There is contact info for a listed owner, Ryan Jahnke,  http://www.zoominfo.com/p/Ryan-Jahnke/31196881
I haven't checked it - maybe it is just myskatingmall.com.

If he coaches (he competed through USFSA, ISU), perhaps he is listed through USFSA.

Thanks - I knew that much (and a little more) already, but I wanted to hear real information from people who know what's going on with the site.
