Jason Brown's quads
« on: April 06, 2014, 03:16:25 PM »
The figure skating director (a coach) at our rink said that Jason Brown demoed quad jumps at a PSA training event that she attended.

Presumably the quads aren't reliable enough for him to use in competition programs yet.

I wonder when he will start using them in competition programs?

When Kori feels they are ready

Exactly - and I think it's wise to wait until they are "solid" before debuting them on the competition scene.  She was the same with his 3A, and I think it has made him a much stronger competitor as a result - there's nothing in his programs he can't nail, which really helps him sell the performance.

There's a video of him doing a quad from last May - and reports that he was landing them even before 2013 Nationals.

I think it'll be just like the triple Axel - don't rush it, put it in when it's ready, and then let it shine.

I've been a fan of Jason's and Joshua's for so long that I'm feeling a bit  :o - the little boys all grown up and doing quads!
