Cheers!

I watched the first episode so far, I like it a lot.   Anime seems to so often have a thread of sadness running through it, and this has it in spades.

The animations of the skating are pretty impressive (though the low frame rates leaves much to the imagination).  Kudos to the artists there.

Absolutely done by skating fans, for skating fans.

This anime was part of the reason why I looked into skating!
I heard it was pretty low budget but it turned out better than some animes out there!

I watched the first episode and the plot is interesting -- but I still can't get over how the skaters here spin on the center of their blades, haha!

I overheard some skaters in Basic Skills talking about Yuri On Ice. I think that's why there's been an explosion of beginners to LTS.

I wouldn't doubt it. I was at the rink late last year and there were three new skaters on the ice, two of which looked like they were cosplaying Yuri and Victor in rental skates... Before they got on the ice they made a big show of warming up and stretching and such, and then could barely stand when they got on the ice.

It was interesting to say the least.
