The blog is more business/career focused, but I think it could be applied to skating (or anything else, really).
I came across this blog a while ago and have been occasionally trying to implement this idea, with limited success. (Mostly because I never remember to think about my three words...) This year I've decided to try to come up with three words to help me focus my skating. There are so many details and things to try to remember to do while skating, so I tried to boil it down to the critical things that will help me while I'm on the ice. So... here are my words for 2018. We'll see how this works.
Lift (my head (!), core, free leg)
Bend (my knees and ankles- this will also remind me to build strength and flexibility off ice)
Shift (my weight)
(might replace that last one with
Smile- positive attitude!)
