Title: Music from Dance Moms (TV show)
Post by: FigureSpins on September 07, 2012, 02:21:43 PM
My kids watch "Dance Moms," which appalls me, but provides many "teachable moments" for me to get a lecture across about fairness, equity and behavior.  Without discussing the hot mess of the show itself, I have to say that the choreography and dancing is beautiful and I really like some of the music they choose.

Lifetime has a "music guide" to the songs on their website and there's an iTunes album where you can download some or all of the pieces.
Some of them are already-cut to lengths that would work for a skating program.

My daughter's skate artistic music was inspired from dance moms.  It's not used often and works well with the time limit.  Her costume as well!  We'd never do the bare midriff, but it is a similar style.
