I had my fitting with Jim today.  We aren't decided on boots yet so only discussed blades briefly.

I'm currently using Coronation Ace on Riedell Royals.  Jim recommend I move to the Eclipse Infinity.  He told me the difference but I honestly can't remember.

He said if I want to stay near the Coronation Ace, he recommended the Eclipse Mist.

Coronation Ace is not available or only ordered from England??

Thoughts?  Do you know the differences or have any input on moving to the Infinity?

TIA!

I also wanted coronation aces and was talked into the mist because it's similar, less expensive, and will last longer.  I trusted the guy I was getting a fitting from.... really well regarded... and went with the mist.  I have no regrets.  They're nice blades.  As for the aces - they may be made in England but I know you can get them in NA.  I've seen them in shops.

My 2 cents: try the mist.  I was pleasantly surprised.

edit: the aces are made in England... my original post was a little unclear.

Great, thanks Amy!

It's the Coronation Ace I think is more difficult to get now.  The Eclipse are in stock at the pro shop.

What boot do you have yours on?

I have risport rf3 supers.  They were quite stiff and the break in was a little tough, but after wearing them for awhile, they're great.

Thanks.  I haven't tried those either!  Haven't seen them in the shops here.  It's really hard when shops - even the high end ones - can't carry a lot of high end stock!

Changing from Coronation Ace to Myst is a lateral move - they are equivalents of each other; the Myst is a clone of the Coronation Ace and MK Professional.  The Infinity is a clone of the Pattern 99 blade. It's rated for doubles and triples, which I don't think you need at this point.  I would save the money and stick with the Myst/Cor Ace blade.  Just mho.

Riedell ended their business relationship with John Wilson/MK and then introduced the Eclipse blades to the US market.  JW/MK now have to be imported as they were years ago.  I'm fairly certain that the pro shops make more money on the Eclipse blades, even with their similar price points; it's probably got a lower wholesale price or shipping cost.

Thanks, great advice!

I forgot Jim did say the Infinity is close to a Pattern 99.  So much information yesterday!  I think I'll stick to the Myst.   Thank you.
