Anyone Using Revolution Blades?

I searched this forum. I found people who know of people with revolution blades. But, I cannot find anyone with revolution blades. They came out 4 years ago. I would think there would be lots of reviews.

I only found one person on the internet (Yahoo) who reviewed the revolution blades. She said that her jumps are better. But, she had to press harder to maintain edges. I'm wondering if this is true or not?

If you are using revolution blades, please let me know if this is true or not?

Apparently people also don't buy it because it has a chance of snapping if you weight over 150 pounds or somewhere around that area.I think. That's what the wilson guy told me over the phone. However, they are beautiful and I would love to get them.but I weight much more than 150 so no for me.

Go to the john wilson website and email them or call them. (I emailed) and ask them about they're weight limit or whatever you want to call it.

meaning the Carbon fibre blades ?

hmm... why so ?   I guess whats really heavy is the boot itself.,,,   why wont we see the carbon fibre  boot ?

One reason a lot of people don't have Revolution blades is cost. Perhaps they are more common among elite competitive skaters?

I don't think cost is a major factor. The MK Professional blades sell for $210. The MK Professional Revolution blades sell for $270.

I just heard back from MK.

"Jumping is made easier due to the weight reduction of the revolution blade. The revolution blades have also been designed to cushion the skater’s landings without affecting the amount of pressure required to take off for jumps. Also, you should not have to press harder to maintain the edges. If a skater has to press harder to maintain an edge, they might require a deeper grind on their blades.
 
Regarding the statement about the weight limit of the Revolution blades being 150 pounds, this is not true. You should have no concerns about the weight restrictions on this blade.
 
The screw holes in the Professional Revolution are different than the standard Professional because of the carbon fitting.
 
Our 6 week exchange scheme allows the skater to trial the revolution or parabolic blades. If during those six weeks you decide that the blade is not right for you, simply return to your dealer to exchange for a brand new traditional pair of blades."

Glad you heard back- very interesting info!

And it probably costs less than you think to ring; it would depend on your plan.  I'm in France, so don't know the going US rates, but costs have dropped considerably.  And if you call from Skype (not their computer-computer service, you can ring landlines too) it can be very, very inexpensive.

I decided to buy the MK Professional Revolution blades. I will post a follow up to let everyone know how I like them.

If no directions come with the blades, you might want to call them to find out how they should be mounted. It is most common to mount blades so the front mounting plate is flush with the front of the outsole. Boot makers try to design boots so that will place the sweet spot of a typical blade under the ball of your foot - but if hole spacing is different for Revolution blades, maybe mounting plate configuration is too. I just don't know.

So they didn't tell you anything about a weight limit? Thats really weird they told me that then.
