Viewing Figure Skating TV/Online 2015-2016
« on: October 07, 2015, 10:46:44 AM »
Lots of skating on TV this year, in tiny little bits and pieces.  NBC cut the 2-hour time slot down to 1.5 hours.  Since they usually wasted our time recapping other sports scores during the FS broadcasts, I guess it's the same amount of time.  If they do the recaps during the shorter time slot, I will complain this year!

Moving Right Along...

Heather W's FS TV Schedule is up to date: http://heatherw.com/mk/sch.htm
Heather is such a blessing for keeping that page up to date for so many years.  I'd miss half of the skating if it weren't for her schedule.

IceNetwork is pricey this season - $49.99
There is a $25 discount to USFSA members; you should have received a personal email with the unique secret code. (Mine was sent yesterday)  If you didn't receive the email, check your spam folders.  If all else fails, contact Member Services at 719-635-5200 to request a code.

Universal Sports is streaming some events online: http://universalsports.com/figure-skating
If your cable/satellite package doesn't include Universal Sports, consider Sling TV.  You can stream US as part of their sports add-on for $5/month.  (I think you have to buy the basic $20/mth subscription to get the add-on, so it's $25/month.)  I can't find anything that says US is offering standalone subscriptions for this season.

There are bloggers on the spot at most elite events - check Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.  Making a big push is the Periscope app, which lets anyone broadcast live to their followers. (All done via apps)
