Yeah, that's the other thing I've noticed about the Crasche:  I wear glasses, and my ears are getting squished up against the earpieces, which hurts a bit after a while.  Not enough to make me stop wearing it, but it's noticeable.

Awesome! I ordered the ribcap from green skates. I'm generally a cold person and frequently find my ears cold so hopefully I won't have a problem with being too warm!

Great!  I think you'll like it.

I like this one.  http://www.liddzz.com/collections/style-male/products/ribcap-lenny-grey

Going to see if my friends overseas can send me one.  If anyone runs across it on a US site, please post, thanks!

I contemplated that one but didn't see it on any US sites. Too bad!

A friend said she'd send it if I wanted but I think she'd still have to order it online say may not make sense.  Checking with a Swiss friend.

Nice find rd350! Did you order it? I got my jackson ribcap today and it was warm and comfy to wear! Also sort of cute! I'm excited to have it, even though it wasn't my first choice in style lol. I got it for $112 including shipping from greenskates (and it shipped fast too!)

Nice!  I haven't ordered it yet.  Getting my custom skates ordered so one thing at a time.  Waiting to see how much they will be  :  )

@littlerain I am on the fringe of ordering.  How did you find the sizing?

@rd350 I measured my head very roughly as 21in so I ordered the small. It is very fitted but not uncomfortable or anything. Are you gonna get the beanie? :)

How was the sizing on the RibCap?

They had 2 at the Pro Shop at the Ice House in Hackensack (NJ).  1 in a large in light gray, that was way too big for me, and an extra small in red.

Oops, I didn't see your response, so strange!

I want to get the knit cap one, the Lenny.  But I tried the beanie one on in a large and an x-small today, as it's what they had.  Not sure if I should get a small or medium.  I'll measure.

I don't like things constricting my head but I obviously don't want it fall on my eyes either.

Thanks!

For what it's worth...

My head is 21" as well and I bought my first Jackson Ribcap in a small.  After a year, the red marks it left on my forehead from being a bit tight annoyed me so I bought it again in a medium.  The medium is definitely more comfortable but sits lower on my head because it's larger.

I guess I have a big head!  22" not measured tightly.  I'll get the medium.  Thanks!

Don't think 22" makes for a big head lol!

I remembered reading slcbelle's thread where she preferred the medium, (is that this thread? Lol) but yeah I used 2 pieces of printer paper to measure my head lmao. But now I got yet another measuring tape so I can check for real. I haven't noticed any imprints on my forehead from it.

Oh fwiw, the jackson is pretty warm!

Has anyone tried the Ribcap "Fox"?  It's billed on their website as being for  "hotheads and for warmer seasons".

I think I'd just wear it outdoors, which I plan to do this winter if the ice isn't bad because I'll have so many rinks outdoor close to me.

After seeing a woman take a bad fall smack on the back of her head last week at the rink, I finally ordered the Lenny Ribcap.  Hoping it's not too hot!  At least it should be good if we have another cold winter and if skating (closer) and outdoors works out.

Would anyone use this as a bike helmet? I don't love the hard helmets.

I think it would be a terrible idea for a bike helmet (even though they sort of market them that way).  Too much of a risk of serious high velocity impact with cars, etc.  I don't know specifics about safety standards, but I don't think these qualify for bike use.

Your probably right.  I was thinking straight up the avenue to one of the rinks, there is a separated bike line, but still.  I am in NYC!

Got my Lenny RibCap!  It's comfy!  I got the Medium (22" head measurement).

Haven't worn it at the rink yet.

I ordered it form liddzz.com in the UK and got free shipping.  Hopefully I'll never have to evaluate it's head protection efficiency.

Yay!  Good to know that we can order internationally.  Availability in the States seems pretty spotty.

Yup, the ice House said they couldn't even get the beanie ones anymore.
