I was there for many hours Wed/Thurs/Fri/Sat as a competitor (Gold Ladies 1 FS, Light and Dramatic!) and spectator. Gold Light 1 was the last event on Forest rink on Saturday so it was a long day, as I wanted to watch Champ Gold first thing in the morning. It was fun to see all my friends and make new ones. There were some issues with registration - I arrived Tuesday night and had to make 3+ trips to registration Tues/Wed to get my credential, program/pin (pre-purchased) and goodie bag. Luckily I had a friend volunteering that helped me out.
Whoever did the sweeper hairbows and the "tossie targets" shirts is genius, I LOVED them! The tossie game was strong, I've never ended up with as many tossies as this! BINGO was very popular, by Friday even the officials were playing! The whole thing seemed very well attended and the Wake bleachers were packed all day Saturday for Champ events.
After the Great Easterns Power Outage of 2017 and no heat all weekend, I figured anything would feel warm (I skate in a cold rink normally) but I was roasting skating all week! I was in leggings and a t-shirt on all my practice ice sessions! No complaints about that, the weather was GREAT! Locker rooms were decent, I liked the one with the graffiti advice on the bathroom door "Don't B Stupid".
