Question about Public skate at Orange County Sportsplex
« on: July 30, 2015, 07:58:38 PM »
I will be in Chapel Hill on August 3 (Monday) and was thinking about going to the public session at 2PM.
However it is Summer Skate with free skate rental.

Will it be so mobbed that it isn't worth trying and does anyone know if they have any rentals other than SoftTec type?
My rink fortunately does have some all leather rentals that I have been using.

Call and ask what time the day campers are skating - it's usually only an hour or so.  I'm not sure if they skate every day or every other day or if there's a different camp age group each day - I dunno.  They're nice kids, but they're loud and proud.  I will say they're respectful and well-supervised.

Unless there's a birthday party or outside camp, the free skate rental won't be much of a draw.  There may be some of the blue plastic skates left in skate rental, but most of the stock in adult sizes consist of soft-skates.  No adult leather skates that I know of.

At UNC?
Private practice off Franklin Street.

Unsure if I will skate of not. I wasn't able to get any skates to take and not sure if I want to venture out on soft boots. I may go by and see what the crowd is like and decide then.

Yes and met up with Laura. It was fun to mainly stroke around. I didn't try too much in the soft boots.
