Freestyle Rules
« on: March 22, 2011, 08:28:46 AM »
After an incident last week (see: rink rants), I started to collect a variety of freestyle rules and layouts from here and there.  I want to put together a plain and simple set of guidelines for skaters who are new to freestyle sessions since it's that time of the year.

My rink has each skater sign a sheet saying that they have read the rules each year. Too bad this doesn't really help...the board really just needs to call out the girls who are the problem (and they are not the kids either...these are teens doing doubles)...

Our club has the rules posted on their website, but they don't offer any sessions this season.  All our freestyles are run by the rink and the rules aren't posted anywhere.  They do have public session rules posted, which is good.

This is excellent: the Princeton Skating Club has definitions of what the "levels" (Low / High) mean and what can be done on their different sessions. (Warmup, Low/High/any Free Style, Dance)
