Diamond Ice Dances
« on: March 08, 2011, 10:27:52 AM »
I read a term that I never saw before.  Someone was talking about high-level dances and remarked about Gold dances and added a comment about "DIAMOND DANCES."

What are Diamond Dances?
"If you still look good after skating practice, you didn't work hard enough."

It's the Canadian dance test above Gold and includes the Ravensburger Waltz, Tango Romantica, Yankee Polka, Rhumba, Austrian Waltz and Golden Waltz (at least, that's what was on it when I was still in Canada - I don't know if they've added the newest compulsory dances or not...). Roughly equivalent to the International Dances in the USFSA test structure.
