Found this image on the internet and thought it would helpful in planning programs since it indicates the rink size and the various measurements using the hockey markings:

Thats awesome! I will definatly remember that I have a flip in my program that's in the attacking zone! ;)

Just another reason to love the Internet!  I found a drawn-to-scale hockey rink layout online about 5 years ago and have been using it to draw out my new programs ever since.  It's a great way to figure out where to put different elements and make sure you use the whole ice surface. :)
