Title: Full Event Replays from 2014 Sochi Olympics
Post by: Query on February 17, 2014, 11:20:41 PM
If you go searching for skating events from Sochi, all you will probably find is a lot of spoilers and discussions, without the events themselves.

Here are some links. Unfortunately, nbcsports only gives you a "temporary pass". To see the whole event, you will be asked to log in at your cable, etc., provider for the NBC Sports channel. Sorry.

Incidentally, I dug this up because my cable provider gave incorrect time information for the Short Dance, so I failed to record it.

I can't guarantee that you won't see any spoilers before the events this way, but this is the best I could do.

Hope this helps.

Have fun.

I'm not sure that watching live coverage counts as a spoiler.  If it wasn't being broadcast at all and people at the event were posting results, that would be.

Most of the live coverage has started around 9am central time... which makes it easy for those of us in the US to watch, and is available for replay if you missed it by 2pm.  So you can still miss the live coverage, and watch it again in it's entirety before any primetime coverage even airs.  What I have caught of the primetime coverage has been INCREDIBLY disappointing because they cut so much out.  I know they have a lot to air, but it would be nice if they at least mentioned who else skated inbetween, rather than just this program, them another program from another group entirely, without any indication that the viewer has 'missed' anything.

I've been very happy with the live streams :)

These are replays, not live. For the ice dance (day 9 and 10), both the web pages and the ads contain lots of spoilers - including about ice dance.

They used the Australian sportscasters for the ice dance replays. They talked about different things than the American sportscasters used on American broadcast TV. I found the the two sets of comments complemented each other.

BTW, if you have trouble playing the replays without jerkiness on your screen, try:
(1) Switch to the Opera web browser. It's a little more efficient than some of the others.
(2) Set the browser zoom factor to 1.
(3) Try reducing your screen resolution.
(4) Get a faster computer.  :)
