I have not been teaching LTS for the past year due to injury. I am going back soon. I am registered as a coach through USFSA's basic skills program (my rink registers me) but I haven't done anything else. (I think I had a background check the first year I started...but not since).
Have the CER changed? I know when all the coach credentialing came out basic skills was exempted. Is there anything I need to do now? (And how much is it going to cost me- it might not be worth it to go back to coaching- I don't get paid, too much of a hassle with taxes for not much money- just free ice time...)

It's complicated, but if you're 18 or older and only teaching LTS, you have to register as a Basic Skills Instructor ($32+admin fee) in addition to having the BSS program register you as one of their instructors ($12-usually paid by the program). http://www.usfsa.org/content.asp?menu=coaches&id=486
The USFSA recommends Liability Insurance ($80-92) and CER-C education courses (optional, but free this year).
